A Passing Canvas

A journal of artistic production that migrates from Mexico to Canada. A transitory gallery of infinite length.

Summary

A Passing Canvas is a personal website developed to document the artwork of trains passing through Austin, TX. It was specifically created to identify the relationship between artist, train car, and the train itself, seeing the works as organic canvasses that travel as one unit on exhibition as it migrates between Mexico and Canada.

The project consisted of developing the database, a back-end of Python and Django, and front-end with clean efficient HTML and CSS .

Images

The design was created to give the user the feeling of benching, or watching, the artwork as it was experienced in documenting it.
Each image was processed so as to retain the experienced quality of the work while also correcting perspectives to allow the viewer the clearest view of the work.
